Armed Forces Day 29th June 2013

Armed Forces Day will be on Saturday, 29 June 2013.

It’s an opportunity to do two things. Firstly, to raise public awareness of the contribution made to our country by those who serve and have served in Her Majesty’s Armed Forces, Secondly, it gives the nation an opportunity to Show Your Support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community: from currently serving troops to Service families and from veterans to cadets.

Across the country people are getting involved: communities hold local events and business show their support.

The National Event will be held in Nottingham, but there are many more events up and down the country being held in support of Armed Forces Day.

The Royal Navy, the Army and the Royal Air Force plan to put on a spectacular display for this year’s Armed Forces Day national event in Nottingham on Saturday, 29 June.

The Ministry of Defence has confirmed a list of assets that will showcase all three Services, enabling Nottingham 2013 to be the biggest and best Armed Forces Day yet. Celebrations will begin with a “feu du joie” – a “fire of joy” – by the guns of local unit 100 Regiment Royal Artillery from Nottingham Castle, as a spectacular tri-Service parade makes its way from the Castle to the Old Market Square for a Drumhead Service. Also involved in the procession will be:

About Andy

I am a British Veteran and war pensioner even though I am in my 40's due to injuries incurred during my tour of duty in Bosnia 1993. I set-up my website in 2001 to help other veterans who are struggling to cope with PTSD and to guide them to get the right help and support they need. I have written a book and this was published in 2009. My website has now had over 3 million hits, I hope you find it useful?
